Barrister Brief- John Giordano (O'Connor '02)

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has appointed John Giordano (O'Connor '02)as Assistant Commissioner for Compliance and Enforcement at the Department of Environmental Protection.

In this capacity, John will oversee and direct all environmental enforcement operations for the state.

John most recently served as Deputy Secretary at the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR).

Prior to joining DCNR, John was a federal prosecutor and senior Justice Department official, having served in the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia, and as Counselor to the Assistant Attorney General for the Environment and Natural Resources Division at the U.S. Department of Justice.

Immediately before joining the Justice Department, John served as a Senior Advisor and Staff Director at the U.S. Department of Energy.

John graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi with high honors and academic distinction from Villanova University (1998), and received his law degree Phi Delta Phi (O'Connor Inn 2002) from Villanova University School of Law.
