Edmund J. Giering, IV, General Counsel of the Baton Rouge Area Foundation, was recently appointed to the Board of Directors of the Louisiana Bar Foundation to represent the Philanthropic Community-at-Large for the 2017-2018 term. His practice emphasizes corporate law & governance, corporate, real estate & complex gift transactions, risk management and nonprofit & tax-exempt organizations.  He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College in 1990, a Juris Doctor degree from the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 1994 and a Master of Business Administration degree from the LSU E.J. Ourso College of Business in 2005.  Since 1989, the Louisiana Bar Foundation has distributed more than $66 million throughout Louisiana to preserve, honor, and improve our system of justice by funding, developing or otherwise promoting efforts which enhance the legal profession, increase public understanding of the legal system and advance the reality of equal justice under the law.
