Stephen C. Watson recognized by Lakeland Kiwanis Club

Stephen C. Watson (Cardozo '70), an attorney in the Lakeland office of GrayRobinson, P.A., was recently recognized by the Kiwanis Club of Lakeland for his 40 years of service and membership to the organization. For four decades, Watson has helped the Lakeland community by organizing community service projects and sponsoring charitable foundations such as Toys for Tots and the Salvation Army. Watson received the Kiwanis International Legion of Honor Award, recognizing his accomplishment during an event held at the First United Methodist Church.

A Florida Bar board certified real estate attorney, Watson’s practices include banking and finance, corporate, estate planning, land use, probate, real estate and trusts. Throughout his career, Watson has had numerous transactions involving acquisition, zoning, permitting, development and sale of retail shopping centers, mixed-use developments, residential communities, multi-family apartment complexes and office buildings. Watson also holds memberships to the American Bar Association, The Florida Bar Association and the Lakeland Bar Association.
Aside from his professional accomplishments, Watson has played an active role in the Lakeland community for many years. In addition to the Kiwanis Club, Watson is a past president of the Boys and Girls Club of Lakeland and has served as a board member for nearly 40 years. He also served as president of the American Heart Association from 2006-2008 and is a former chairman of the association’s Heart Ball. Additionally, Watson has been the Chancellor for the past 35 years of All Saints’ Episcopal Church, where he chairs the Finance Committee and has been elected Senior Warden of the Vestry five times. He is also a member of the Lakeland Chamber of Commerce.
Watson received his juris doctorate degree from the Stetson University College of Law and his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia.
