John Giordano named Deputy Secretary for Administration

Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett has named John Giordano (O'Connor '02) Deputy Secretary for Administration at the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
In this capacity, John will serve as the Department’s Chief Administrative and Fiscal Officer, with responsibility for all administrative, management, and information technology activities.
Most recently, John was a Republican endorsed candidate for Philadelphia City Council At-Large, a race from which he voluntarily withdrew on March 23, 2011.
From 2008-2011, John was Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer of Atlantic Trailer Leasing Corp., a transportation and equipment leasing company.
In November 2010, John was appointed to Governor-elect Tom Corbett’s Transition Team, where he served as a member of the Energy and Environment Committee.
John is a former federal prosecutor and senior Justice Department official, having served in the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia, and as Counselor to the Assistant Attorney General for the Environment and Natural Resources Division at the U.S. Department of Justice. Prior to joining the Justice Department, John served as a Senior Advisor and Staff Director at the U.S. Department of Energy.
John graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi with high honors and academic distinction from Villanova University, and received his law degree Phi Delta Phi (O'Connor Inn 2002) from Villanova University School of Law.
